Willis Engineers worked with the City of Laurinburg in evaluating the water and sewer infrastructure needs to support a new industry in their industrial park. The industry required an extremely aggressive timetable for their sewer needs. Willis Engineers immediately developed an implementation plan to meet their needs. Four separate construction contracts were defined for the new facilities that included an equalization tank, two pumping stations, 12,000 feet of 12-inch force main and 10,000 feet of 24-inch gravity sewer.
As a result of our diligent planning and efficient design strategies, the necessary sewer facilities were ready for service in only 15-months. The construction cost for the project was approximately $1,600,000 nearly $70,000 under the original estimate.
